Question: Is there a way to tell sabnzbd to create a history entry named for the extracted NZB-within-another-NZB when only one thing was selected in binsearch results, like it does when you select 2 or more?
This works:
Do a generic search on binsearch, such as: nzb 720p hdtv
Select 2 or more of the NZB files in the list.
Create an NZB file.
Load that NZB file into sabnzbd, and wait for everything to finish.
History shows an entry "nzb+720p+hdtv" for the original NZB file, and one for each of the extracted NZB files.
So far, so good, but...
Do the same thing, but select only one of the NZB files in the search results.
History shows only "nzb+720p+hdtv". There's no entry with the name of the NZB you selected from the binsearch results list.
Try to search your history and figure out which episode you most recently downloaded. No joy.
As a workaround, I cut and paste the name of the desired NZB into a separate search, then create the binsearch NZB. It works, but it's a pain.
Version: 0.7.16
OS: Windows 7
Install-type:Windows Installer
Is the issue reproducible? yes
When an NZB downloads a single NZB, the assumption is that you want to reuse the first NZB name.
In this specific case that doesn't work out.
I still claim that the current method is the best for single NZB in NZB situations,
the underlying thought being that you took the trouble of picking a decent name for the first NZB.
> I still claim that the current method is the best for single NZB in NZB situations,
Can you give me an example of a search term you might use on binsearch for which the search term would be a more appropriate name to show in the history list than the name of the thing you selected from the search results?
I can't think of one. You must be talking about some other source of nested NZBs, rather than binsearch. Perhaps the naming method could become a configuration setting, for example under Switches/Naming?
Well, I assumed you took the trouble to set a decent name, which is what I do.
If you're using binsearch's default names, then names are less than useful.
But this is also true for direct finds, you always need to set a proper name when using binsearch.
You are right that in the case of an indirect NZB, the downloaded NZB may very well have a decent name.
I'll look at some options.
