release extracts fine... thus its just sab puking on the invalid pars.

to rule out it being a sab specific problem, I checked the par's outside of sab and confirmed they also report the same thing:
checked .par2 with multipar v1.2.5.5 it says 'the specified file is not valid'. upgraded multipar to 1.2.6.6 (latest).. says the same thing.

quickpar 0.9.1, says par is 'Damaged' with 0 blocks available.


tried sab0.7.18's pars as well,

FWIW:

- I get the same result on Linux
- Manual stuff: "unrar x" gives an error ("packed data checksum error in volume americas.next.top.model.s21e07.720p.hdtv.x264-bajskorv.r02", "par2 r" gives the error above
- I think the problem / message is "Main packet not found.". That was a known bug in par2 in 2006. So I checked with a github version of par2 (https://github.com/BlackIkeEagle/par2cmdline.git), and still get "Main packet not found.". The 2006 patch seems to be applied, so it's another problem
- nzbget can't download the post either
- I don't know what you mean with "release extracts fine". Do you mean you have a usable mkv?
- I don't know what you mean with "how to make sab not care if par is broken if the sfv is good?" AFAIK, a sfv does not contain repair info, which apparently is needed to repair the rar set.

Noticed I posted two examples, the one I was referring to that extracted just fine was The.Amazing.Race.S25E02.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION
Which I discovered that the sfv was fine, and release extracted.. but the parset blocked sab from getting to that point. Even with 'Quick Check' enabled.. which is suppose to bypass the parset if the release is good... which it didnt.. posted a github issue about it - https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabnzbd/issues/182

sure, which in the Amazing Race example.. that would have worked. as the sfv validated that all the files were good.. just that the parset cock blocked sab from getting there. tried it with newsbin which it threw the message about the par's being damaged.. but still extracted just fine (because none of the files needed repairing).

Hi all, what version should I be pulling to get the new fixes? Right now I'm pulling develop but when I go to the website it tells be it hasn't been updated in a while 0.7.x says it's been updated a few days ago. Should I revert back to 0.7.x and not use 0.8.x?

The "develop" branch is a bit behind "0.7.x.".
Be aware that you cannot just go back to the 0.7.x branch, the queue is not compatible between major versions.
"develop" will be updated within a week or so.

With an empty queue you should be able to switch.
The sabnzbd.ini file will also need to switch between 8bit ASCII and UTF-8 Unicode,
but that almost certainly will work (unless you went outside the latin1 character set.)
If possible, SABnzbd will take care of that.

still seeing this issue, sabnzbd has failed the download with "Invalid par2 files, cannot verify or repair " which is is correct the pars are damaged, however the .rar files are fine and it does extact fine if you do it manually, since the par files were not needed
