"Paused nzo" and "Resumed nzo" looks a bit strange, but I don't know the cause.

This is what I would do in your mysterious case:
Start SABnzbd and delete everything in the queue
Stop SABnzbd

Then, in a terminal, do this:

sabnzbdplus -f my-fresh-config.ini -s 0.0.0.0:12222 -l 2

Then your webbrowser should open up http://localhost:12222/ with the wizard. Fill out one newsserver, with just 2 connections.

After filling out the wizard, get one NZB from binsearch, for example http://www.binsearch.info/index.php?q=% ... &postdate=
Put that NZB into SABnzbd and see if/how the download proceeds.

- did you really start with a fresh setup and fill out the wizard? Your first and second line make me think not.

You're still providing only parts of information. I really need to see all logging, including the command line to start up SABnzbd.

Furthermore, you're downloading something else than the Ubuntu test image I asked you to download. Which makes me think what other things you're doing in a different way.

I can't help you that way.
