"Illegal Instruction: 4" Mac OS X 10.7.5

Post by RustyKnight »

I tried upgrading to 7.20 but SABNzbd won't start.

I tried "./SABVnzbd --console" in the /Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS directory and it printed "Illegal instruction: 4"

I tried downgrading to 7.19 with the same result.

Any suggestions?

Re-install?
We do a quick test on Lion and it starts up.
Which version does start successfully?

I have the same issue after upgrading from 7.18 to 7.20. (skipped 7.19), I also have OSX 10.7.5.

7.18 is working fine, but after replacing the application with version 7.20 the application crashes.
In /var/log/system.log the same error is written: Illegal instruction: 4. Nothing else than that error.

I've now restored 7.18 from backup, everything is working again but i'd like to upgrade to 7.20.
Please let me know if there is a way to enable more logging to fix this issue.

Weird, like I said, we do a basic test for Snow Leopard, but not Leopard.
We also don't have actual hardware for it.
I'll see what I can do.

That is weird, indeed.
If there is anything I could do to help.
Perhaps test a beta version, provide some logging of any kind, etc. Please let me know.

It will take some time to examine this.
I will contact you to try out a few test versions.
I need to backtrack changes between 0.7.18, 19 and 20
and also look at any changes in the build environment.

BTW: Can you try 0.7.19 ?

Hi, sorry that this took so long time, but I was bussy doing a lot of other things and v0.7.18 was working, so no urge to try upgrading again. :)

I now have tried 0.7.19, unfortunately the same error.
Is there any way I can enable more detailed or verbose logging?
