SABNZBD and Easynews
Guys,
I use Easynews for my downloads and don't want to change as I have built up a large amount of GB I need to use.
I use Sickrage to download my TV shows that connects to SABNZBD that downloads the files, Sickrage finds the episodes but cannot download due not enough retention. Am I missing something in the middle?
John.

Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
Search "DMCA" on this forum.
And if you want to test the correctness of your setup, pick a file from http://nzbindex.com/search/?q=TestFile+ ... igtestfile and download it. If that works, your setup is correct, and the things you can't download are DMCA'ed

Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
I am able to download about 50% of files but the ones that are failing are on easynews as a download, does SABNZBD download the file as a full .mkv file etc ?
Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
Did you test your setup like I adviced you?
Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
Sorry yes I did and it worked.

The problem is that when I look on easynews all the files are there! Then again maybe I am not understanding DMCA
Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
How do you know the files are there? What do you use to check this?jbrines wrote: The problem is that when I look on easynews all the files are there! Then again maybe I am not understanding DMCA
Try other client software to download the same NZB(s).
If you get the same results, the files aren't there.
Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
I logon to Easynews and search for the TV Episode I am looking for, the full large files is there as well as the PAR files. I can send you a screen shot in a private message if you want?shypike wrote:How do you know the files are there? Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
I think what you are seeing is an index, just like all other indexing sites would show it.
That doesn't mean the articles are still on their server.
Just email me an NZB that shows up in Easynews' index but cannot be downloaded by SABnzbd.

The file is deffo there as I have downloaded it. It could be that I am not understanding the NBZ scenario and becuase the video file is there doesn't mean there is a NBZ!!!!
Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
Usenet servers do not have files on them, they have only articles.
In order to download anything useful from them you need the services of
an indexer (e.g. binsearch.info) to create an NZB file which describe which
articles in which order need to be assembled into files.
So there is no "video file" on easynet, only a bunch of articles from which
you could build such a "video file".
When things wrong there are generally a few possible causes:
1. The uploader made a mistake and did not upload enough data
2. The indexer made a mistake by not recognizing all articles belonging to a post
(that happens mostly because of errors made by the uploader).
3. The Usenet server removed all or part of the articles because they were told to do so
Easynews offers another way to download files. If that works better: use it.
SABnzbd works in the "classic way" by relying on NZB files.

Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
Hi Shypike,
Thanks for the info.
I am now using nMatrix as my indexer but it still fails on the episode that I am trying to download. If I go on to Easynews and create a NBZ of the file I want and add it to SAB it downloads it fine.
I am wanting to use Sab and Sickbeard as I want it to automatically download them for me in the background.
Could it be that the episodes are older and I just need to use it for new episodes that come out?
John.

Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
It could be that Easynews does a better job of creating NZB files for those posts.
They're "closer to the fire" so to speak.

Re: SABNZBD and Easynews
OK cheers. Can you recommend an indexer that might be as good as Easynews?shypike wrote:It could be that Easynews does a better job of creating NZB files for those posts.
