GUI won't load in browser - been working fine for years

Post by moveright »

I went to check if there were any failed/incomplete downloads in SAB this morning as I do each week but when I went to log in, the GUI wouldn't load. I've tried in Chrome and FF. I get the little SAB icon on my browser, and in Windows 7 task manager, SAB shows running in the processes tab. I restarted my machine but still no avail.

When I attempt to access it, I get the standard Chrome unavailable page - like if you had no internet connection and tried to load a web page.

What can I check from a command line? I've never had to troubleshoot this sort of issue.

Thanks!

Do a right mouse click on the SABnzbd tray icon.
Then pick Troubleshoot -> Restart - 127.0.0.1:8080

There is no icon. I have SAB starting as a system task using task scheduler. It starts upon boot. I just disabled that task startup schedule. and launched SAB. Now I have the icon but I wonder.... my bookmark to load SAB was 192.168.1.50:8080 (which would not load). I recently changed a setting in SAB (as per your instruction) for SAB to be on 127.0.0.1 as opposed to 0.0.0.0. So, I noticed that SAB pops up in m y browser as 127.0.0.1. I wonder if that was the whole problem - that my browser shortcut just simply pointed to a wrong address. At any rate, I just restarted it per your directions. Seems to load but again, I wonder if it's the address thing. Although, I would have thought that localhost would have translated 192.168.1.50(this machine) to 127.0.0.1 - but then again, I barely know what I'm talking about so I may have just sounded really stupid :(

I'll report back here if I have any other issues loading the GUI. Thanks for the response!

127.0.0.1 is an address that stays within a PC.
You only need the other address if you want to access SABnzbd from another
computer within your local network.
