Missing articles but not trying backup?

I've recently been trying to download some files but getting failed to unpack not enough repair blocks... Par for the course these days.

However mousing over the download while it is in progress I can see the missing article count steadily creeping up, this is generally a good indication that the download will fail.

However I have a backup account sabnzbd isn't even trying to connect to it. There are only active connections to my primary, just wondered why this might be? I would expect sabnzbd to at least try fetching the missing ones from my backup. Any ideas?

Is the server enabled? Does it have more than 0 connections setup?

Yes server is enabled with 5 connections set. Pressing test says connection successful. It's only some downloads, others fail over and use the backup no problem.

Am wondering are there different categories of missing articles? Some downloads that fail I see the speed drops to zero and it appears to complete very fast, you can see it trying the backups but it fails (presumably DMCA takedown)

This type of failure the connection stays maxed out and it appears to be progressing, but I can still see the missing articles count increasing, and no connections to the backup server, so not quite sure what is going on with this second scenario.

The only thing I can think of is some form of fake replacements,
but I must admit, I've never seen those.
Can you email me the name of your primary and backup providers
and a copy of a troublesome NZB?
Maybe I have accounts for one or both of these and I can test directly.

Check Config->Switches->Fail on yenc crc Errors
If on, set it off.

Even with that switch set to off I don't see the backup server used. Especially with nzb files that seem to be DMCA removed on the main server.

Which Usenet provider are you using? Especially the primary one.
Also, can you email one or more of the NZBs to [email protected]?

I just encountered this again, and managed to get some clean logs. Note how the backup server is never even considered or connected.

Just bought a month sunnyusenet, but it works fine for me.
Al least in the sense that the backup server is tried (albeit without result).
The post is likely missing from all servers.
Normally, this is what you see when no server has article:

Are you sure your backup server is online and doesn't time-out on missing articles?
Can you do me a favour and email me a screenshot of your Config->Servers page (with expanded details)?

Thanks for looking into this. I just sent you the screenshot. My backup server is just fine. It is just never contacted unless I disable all other servers.

The non-existing server with a retention time limit seems to block the use of the backup server.
I will look into this.
For now, just disable or remove the non-existing server.
