You're using a wired connection or WIFi?

Having the same issue, speeds are dropping to zero. Throughout the download process there is no constant speed. Does not seem to be an issue with my internet speeds. Just got nzbget and speeds are constant and is actually downloading files. Not seeing any errors in the logs. Tried reinstalling SabNzb+, issue still persist even after restarts. Using a mac mini with maverick. Also using a wired connection. I have tried both wired and wireless.

Try a queue repair from the Status page, tab Repair.

I've started to get the same issue.

OS X 10.9 sabnzbd 0.7.17

Neither a restart nor Q repair fixes it.

It's like it's choking, even though there's only one item in the q.

Weird.

I've also been having the same issue, and it's getting worse (e.g. more often). I'm on OS X, also up to date, also 0.7.17 (wired, this computer is my server and is always on).

I've found that the only thing that even sometimes fixes the problem is restarting SABnzbd. Then, less than 24 hours later, it seems like the problems are returning.

Another symptom of all this, I think: things that are brand-new (hours-old) scene releases will finish downloading, show 0:00:00 remaining in the queue, but not finish into post-processing. I can have a buildup of several items like this. In this case, pausing/unpausing seems to "kick" it into post. If this is unrelated, I apologize, but it's worth noting in the event that it is related.

Could be some memory leak in Apple's Python implementation,
because it' quite solid on other platforms.
I'll do some extended tests on Apple hardware and software.

Hi there
I'm also experiencing the same issue.
For about a week now I have been trying to download and my SABnzbd says it has 0kb download speed. However when I run a speed test I do have download speed. I can also stream over the internet fine, it just seems to be limited to SABnzbd.
I have tried forced reset and closure of SABnzbd, restarting my computer etc however nothing has seemed to work.
I am on a Mac OSX 10.7.5
Any help you could provide I'd greatly appreciate it.
Cheers
Ghengus

Hi,

I have the exact same issue on NAS4Free v9.2 using Sabnzbd 0.7.16 - installed for 5 days and has never had a stable connection. Tried altering no of connections, article cache, repairing whole queue, ensuring cpu power (2.4ghz q6600 quad core) is set to max permanently, various port numbers. Stable 60 mb/s connection - nothing works.

It's a shame cause it seems like a really nice program apart from this issue.

How much memory does your system have?

Hi shypike.

4gb DDR2 - is that enough? My NAS only has 2 TB storage so I know that's not using it all up. Even with Sabnzbd running, memory utilisation is only about 25%.

Thanks

Your hardware is more than enough for the task, assuming a reasonable CPU.
We cannot test on each and every platform and much depends on
the quality of the Python port for that platform.
Do make sure that you haven't set a large amount of connections on Config->Servers.
For most providers about 10 is the right amount.

Thanks shypike, yeah I have messed around a lot with number of connections - seems slightly more stable with 10 connections but still seems to fluctuate a lot between about 3 - 6 mb/s.

Thanks anyway for your suggestion

Hi shypike.
After messing around with alot of different values I finally found that if I set to only use 3 connections the DL speed stays relatively fixed (between 5.8 - 6.3 mb/s with the occasional drop to 3 or 4 but MUCH less often.

Dunno if it will cause any issues only using 3 connections but it definitely seems to have done the trick so thanks very much for your suggestion. Everyone else I ever spoke to regarding newsgroups said more connections = better, but this obviously isn't the case with NAS4Free.

Cheers

More connections is never better with SABnzbd.
For each provider there's an optimal amount that gives the highest speed.
It also depends on how the system is configured.
Some Linux systems are configured with a (too) low amount of socket room.

This is still happening, and appears to be becoming more frequent.

I'm using 0.7.17 on Mac OS X 10.9.3

Typically the download will run at full speed (using all my bandwidth) until the last few meg, then seems to choke. The speed drops to nothing or nearly nothing.

Anyone got any ideas?
