Hi probably that line wasn't correct  ::)

when I start SABnzbdmanually and then /etc/init.d/SABnzbd stop

it stops the program so that part works !  ;D

but starting still not now it asked me for the pasword for root and after I gave that

/etc/init.d/SABnzbd start
Starting SABnzbd.
[sudo] password for jeroenpeters:
Error:
I refuse to fork without a log directory!

there is a logs directory in

jeroenpeters@BP6:~$ cd /home/jeroen/.sabnzbd
jeroenpeters@BP6:~/.sabnzbd$  ls -al
totaal 20
drwxr-xr-x 4 jeroenpeters users 4096 feb 27 14:06 .
drwxrwxrwx 8 jeroenpeters users 4096 feb 27 14:06 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 jeroenpeters users 4096 feb 27 14:06 cache
drwxr-xr-x 2 jeroenpeters users 4096 feb 27 14:06 logs
-rwxr-xr-x 1 jeroenpeters users 1974 feb 28 08:11 sabnzbd.ini
jeroenpeters@BP6:~/.sabnzbd$

is this what it is talking about ???

Update from IRC: I've suggested to nuke everything he's got (since it seems the install is a bit mucked up) and install from the debs here: http://www.mbastiaan.nl/sabnzbd.php
