Only had one R Certificate which had expired.
Deleted and now connecting fine with strict mode selected.

Reading RogerYoung's post led me to investigate this as a user profile issue and I decided to have a look at my user certificate store. My user store had two certs for R3 in "Intermediate Certificate Authorities" one expired and one valid. I deleted the expired one and now everything works. I wouldn't have expected it to behave this way since the valid R3 intermediate was there, but I'll take it.

I had only one R3 intermediate certificate in there which expired today. How did you get the new one?

Edit: Deleted it like ukmike wrote, and now it works all fine!

Yeah, You shouldn't actually need the intermediate if you have the trusted root

I believe it's replaced by ISRG Root X1 according with the link below:

(sorry as a new user I can't post links so I add a space to each character)

I found the ISRG Root X1 certificate in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

But certificates are muddy waters for me. So I'm not sure.

Thanks everyone. I too only had one R3 cert with an expiration date of 9/29/2021. Deleted it and Sabnzbd now works when set back to strict enforcement.
