If that's true, why is there a TV/Movie rename feature implemented in the first place?
Same goes for RSS.

Practically everything can be done by third party stuff. I personally dislike having multiple programs to just do one task, thats why I want to see this feature implemented into the main program.
wally007 wrote: By the way , Media Rover does pretty much same thing except that WebDL stuff that i heard here for the first time. Once it downloads the episode, it WILL NOT queue that episode again.
WebDL is just a release type like HDTV, 720P, HR, PDTV etc. The major difference it that it lacks (jay!) the logo's and other overlays that are mostly seen on "normal" TV rips.
Nothing special.

Once plugin architecture has been created for SABnzbd these will probably move out into plugins (but be enabled by default).

Because we weren't thinking about what we consider SABnzbd's "core" functionality spiraling out of control when we wrote it. Once we started doing TV stuff, and then started doing some experimental streaming / library stuff with 0.5 we stopped and realized we shouldn't be implementing every feature as core functionality. We should have a simple test for if something should be core functionality, and that's "Does this help all of our userbase download binaries from usenet?" If it doesn't meet that test we shelve it for a third-party app or for once we get a plugin system working.

A plugin system is one of our main goals post-0.5, and once we've got it, yes, we'll start pulling out features that shouldn't have been there in the first place and making them into plugins, like the rename/sort functionality.

As we've been saying, your specific feature request is something that's already mostly-there in Media Rover. Go ask the guys that develop that.

Won't this have a negative impact on the application's speed? Still a nice idea though :)

I've tried Media Rover but this does not work in my situation.

My server downloads the episodes, once my mediacenter gets online it pulls them all automatically to his own harddisk (which is larger). After the file transfer is completed (and validated) he deletes them from the server.

Media Rover apparently doesn't maintain a database with shows, so it is unable to recognize my shows (since there are none).
Even if MediaRover works (which isn't the case (at the moment)), I still prefer SABnzbd over third party applications. :)
