Thanks for the work around Shypikes
i will modify the share i let you know (as usual
)
But as Gizzard stated, i confident that it would work if without the encoding problem.
But the end solution would be to find why ntpath.pyo in 0.5 use a different method in 0.5

I'm sure it would, but for the bug in SABnzbd.
However you still shouldn't use D: paths in WHS
except for temporary storage.
It will be OK as long as you have one drive,
adding one may soon create problems.

it make sense and will change it like a did for the other category already.
But i am not sure that addind drive to WHS would change the partition as my server already have 2 drive merge into the D partition.
For exemple my WHS have two drive but keep the D partition.

chriscc and gizzard,
I have been testing this like mad.
I cannot it crash at all.
My question is: does the crash only occur when there is
an RSS title contains accented characters?
Does it also crash when the title is just plain English characters?
The only other cause I can think of is that your sabnzbd.ini is in some
strange character encoding.
Now I don't have access to a French language Windows, but as far as I know
the "codepage" used by French and English Windows should be the same.
Not sure though.
If you type this in a command prompt, what do you see?
Does it end with the number 850?

The file doesn't contains accented characteres, here an example of one of them : The.Daily.Show.2010.02.24.Tracy.Morgan.HR.HDTV.XviD-NATiON, so i think it's only related to the directory, has gizzard fixed the issue by removing the blocking characteres.
i checked the sabnzbd.ini files and i couldn't find any encoding issue with it.
i also don't think it's related to the french version as the characteres copied by gizzard aren't french.
the mode con give me 850 as the end.
FYI, it seems that the rss doesn't work at the moment
http://tvnzbrss.com/feedgen.php?id=0826899321 so i can't continue my test.

To be honest I don't have a clue what the issue with your systems is.
It works perfectly fine here.
The only way I can make it crash is when I force the sabnzbd.ini file to Unicode.
That's not a realistic scenario, because that will destroy the ini file later on.
I can add some fixes to the software but have no way of testing the effectiveness.
I'll do some more digging and may ask you to test a special version.

I have codepage at 850. And I have tried this with an updated ini file and a fresh install with the same results also I don´t remember any nzb with any other than english characters
I have no issue with this now as I changed the share paths not to include any special chars.
Chris Just modify the shares as shypike suggested and you should be fine.

If you want to see this hands on I can arrange a remote session to my system. Just pm me.

Hi Gizzard,
i am confident that changing the directory name would fix the issue for me.
But i keep for the moment in order to help shypike with the debug as many other person et especially the one with WHS don't necessary have the possibility to change the folder name.
Let's say i am doing it for the good of the program 8)
@Shypike, if you can't reproduce the error, how could i generate more detailled log file?
As Gizzard and myself are both on Windows server 2003 (WHS is based on it) it will check if it only related to this os by duplicate the setting on my PC on vista.

Chriscc,
I managed to get a French language WHS up (deciphering French computer terms isn't easy for me
)
First question: which skin do you use?
I discovered that I cannot enter "é" when I use the "smpl" skin. Yes, that's a big bug!
However, after using the Classic skin, I was able to enter \\serveur\Vidéos
and downloaded a test job.
No errors!
Somehow the "complete" path enters the ini file in a wrong format.
How, I don't know yet.
The bad thing that I still cannot reproduce the problem.
When I use "smpl" the Unicode path is mistaken for a Latin-1 path and this will immediately
cause SABnzbd to complain that it cannot create \\serveur\Vidéos
One test you do is to re-enter the "complete" path using the "Default" skin.
That is, if you weren't already using that.

Hi Shypike,
I am using the plush skin. tried to enter the path with SMPL and it give me the error as well.
I change re-enter the path using the classic mod, i will see if it solve the issue.
When you said you downloaded a job, was it through a RSS feeds? as regular download works fine for me also.
To confirm gizzard observation, by saving the files into a folder named "tv_shows", i didn't have any problem with todays feeds.

No, I forgot that I had to use an RSS feed.
Thanks for the tip, I'll check further.
But I already have the strong suspicion that French WHS has
nothing to do with it.

Are the accents in the base folder or in the NZB names?
Which operating system do you use?

Same problem here with sabnzbd 0.5 under a Linux Ubuntu 9.10. This version doesn't seem to play very well with unicode
It worked like a charm in 0.4.x. For now, I created a symlink in my home to ~/Vidéos.
