Re: myNZB
Hey,
So I've been using this for a couple days and I really like it, makes running sab/newzbin remotely much more pain free than from the safari browser. That said I think it needs just a few changes to turn it from a good app into a great one.
A) Sabnzbd control
With sab 0.5 apparently adding in mobile templates it would be nice to see this portion of the app expanded a bit to add things like queue control to switch the order for things downloading. As others have already mentioned, a history tab would be nice too to make sure things successfully completed etc.
B) Newzbin
I really like the improvements on newzbin search. The longer, separate attributes portion was needed, and bookmark control is nice. One improvement here would be separate pages to organize search results, instead of one long list of 50 or 100 hits. It can be troublesome sometimes when you're half way down a list of 70 items and you forgot which one you wanted. I think it would just be easier and more organized if you had pages of say 25 or so, or however many the user wants to display per page. Also, sometimes the titles of the files can be longer than the allocated space for names, maybe add an extra line or two for text here? Occasionally, when looking at the comments for a file where it has to load the newzbin page inside the app, it crashes, even on my 3gs with plenty of ram to spare. Not catastrophic but it can be annoying at times.
Finally, as has been said before, more support for different search providers would be awesome, specifically nzbmatrix. Newzbin is my go-to site, but occasionally it's missing files and for that I head over to nzbmatrix, which is almost equally as popular I would say. Having support for this, and in the future other sites, would be great.
Again, this is an awesome app with just a few minor quirks. Thanks for the work, I look forward to future improvements, and if anything I said is already being worked on a heads up would be appreciated so we know what's coming. Thanks!
Edit:
Oh and just one other thing I remembered, adding search to the categories section under newzbin would be awesome, so you can search through the categories to narrow your hits down if you so choose, instead of just having everything under that category listed. Thanks again!

Re: myNZB
Also, I have one small bug that I can't seem to work out. I can pause, refresh, and set the speed for sab just fine, but when I try to clear the warning messages I get an error: SABnzbd Connection Error: Unable to connect (internal server error). Everything else is working fine so I'm a little confused why this wouldn't work. It's not a huge deal but I was just wondering.
Re: myNZB
Spotted another bug, you cannot use an email address with Newzbin only the Username.
Newzbin.com allows you to login with email address OR username.
Love the app & looking forward to an update!
P.S personally I would hate to see free NZB sites added, however I would like to see more features for Newzbin

Re: myNZB
Well nzbmatrix isn't a free site really, and that's the only other one I care about. Sab 0.5.0 is adding rss support for it.
Re: myNZB
Hi There,
Am a new user to MyNZB, having only bought a copy the other day. So far, I have most of it up and running, and am already really impressed, but have one issue: if I try and search newzbin or browse newzbin categories, I am given a 'Unable to connect (can't find host)' error. If I use tvnzb, everything works fine.
I have reinstalled, though this doesn't seem to have made a difference. If I paste a newzbin post ID into sabnzbd directly, it grabs the nzb and the download proceeds normally, so would suggest that the sabnzbd side is happy.
Do you guys have any thoughts on this? Getting newzbin working would be the icing on the cake...
Thanks,
Rich

Re: myNZB
Just wanted to add that I have resolved the above issue. Looks like mynzb doesn't like extended characters in passwords (such as ? And &). By swapping them with the relevent hex codes (ie ?=%3f), everything works fine.
To the author of mynzb: great app, thanks for working on it. Given that a couple of people have run into password type issues, maybe this is something you can look into?

Re: myNZB
bought this app and loving it. just wanted to second the request for attribute search. i am using this combined with tversity to get streaming video to my iphone, but it would be nice to be able to search by attribute so i can find mp4 files
Re: myNZB
Hey, does anyone here use the MyNZB app to control their Usenet stuff? I recently downloaded it, went to settings, put my info in (localhost as the Host, 8080 as the port, etc.) and even emailed myself the exact API Key from SABnzbd+ and then copy and pasted it into settings.
Now, I open the app, and it says "Unable to connect."
WHY?? Am I using the wrong version of SABnzbd+? It says it's the most up to date...

Re: myNZB
under sab general settings, change the host to blank, go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and enter in what your ip is instead of localhost on your iphone.Doju wrote: Hey, does anyone here use the MyNZB app to control their Usenet stuff? Re: myNZB
Ugh, this is so confusing. Not too impressed. At least make a setup tutorial dev, this is not very userfriendly at all.
I have this as my settings. It still won't work. I changed SABnzbd+'s settings to have no API key required, and I changed the host it should look for from localhost to the IP address. Port is still 8080.
SABnzbdX wasn't this hard to set up. I'm tempted to ask for a refund.
