What happens if you add ipv6-only newszilla6.xs4all.nl as newsserver?

If SAB can't reach that server either, there is probably something wrong with your name resolution. If your OS is not the problem, it could be your modem/router or ISP's DNS. You could set 8.8.8.8 as your nameserver to bypass modem/router and ISP.

I've tried signing up at Sixxs but was denied an account as they need my "valid" private info.  Sounds like BS to me.  Is it possible to sign up w/o giving away pertinent and private data (i.e. address, phone #, name, etc.)?

XS News exposes odd behaviour at times. This is what python's socket.getaddrinfo(...) has to say about XS News, the two queries being only about a minute ot two minutes apart:
