So I have myNZB setup and it works on my wireless network but as soon as I leave the house I cant check it...
Get a dd-wrt compatible router on newegg for $30. I have used other routers for port forwarding and they dont work, which is why I recommend dd-wrt. Setup that dd-wrt router and go on
www.dyndns.com and setup an account. In the first tab you can setup your permanent domain name for your dynamic IP address in the DDNS settings. Now setup port forwarding for the port that your Sabnzbd is transmitting at (should be 8080). Also make your computer with Sabnzbd a static IP in Windows Settings in case your IP changes consequently leaving your port forwarding out of wack. Now you have a complete setup that will never stop transmitting Sabnzbd. Pmarszal, I recommend Pmarszal.is-a-chef.com

Great app!! Absolutley needed an app like this!! ;D
Installed it on my 3.1.3 version iphone, works like a charm.
One little thing doesn't work though; if a desired category name contains a space, you can not change it in an active download.
Example; my categories names look like this: tv - lost.
If the download is started and I want to change the category from " none" to " tv - lost" it will come back with an error message.
Change Category Error
Unable to connect to SABnzbd (bad URL).
I changed the name of the category to "tv-lost" to see if that worked, and it did. So it's not caused by the "-" character.
Is this something you fix in you MyNZB app?
Thanks!!

hey myNZB,
I love the program thus far and use it every day. One suggestion I have is to only show the last "x" number of items in the history. My history has 1200+ reports, and loading them all over 3g takes a while and is completely unnecessary. I would like to just see the last 10 or something. Thanks!

i really don't feel like installing a separate hack to fake 3.1.2 just to install this app, and there's no way i'm updating from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 and losing my jailbreak, can you please allow it to work in 3.1.2 next patch? 3.1.3 adds absolutely no functionality needed for this application to run and is simply screwing over/inconveniencing all your supporters who have jailbroken their phones.
yeah, is the app actually using a sdk function that is only in 3.1.3 or what? The report saying that you can fake 3.1.3 and it'll load on 3.1.2 would suggest not. ;/
loads fine on faked 3.1.3 for me FYI

Ok let me put this strait : there is NO new function with 3.1.3 SDK. So it's NOT possible to have an app that really requires 3.1.3 and really cannot run on 3.1.2. So setting a 3.1.3 requirement for any app is just completely moronic...

that's not quite true. There were bug fixes. If a developer makes a bundle that can be run on 3.1.2, he will also have to make sure to "hack" around any of the old bugs in the frameworks that were fixed in the more recent versions. I am developing an app that really only relies on 3.0 features, but I am only making it compatible with the 3.1+ OS versions because of a lot of core data bugs in the earlier OS versions.
You can blame the developer for being lazy, but if you look at the statistics, it's rarely worth putting in a lot of work to be backwards compatible...

What exactly is "not quite true" according to you ?
There IS NOTHING that runs with 3.1.3 and don't run with 3.1.2...
I'm not saying anything about 3.0 features and backwards compatibility.
I just say that a 3.1.2 requirement is enough in any case, and your app do not loose 3.1.2 public...

My apologies, zito. You are right; there seems to be no valid reasons for not making the app 3.1.2+ compatible.

Hi Guys,
I hate to add to the thread about connection problems but I was wondering if anybody could offer any suggestions (I have read the full thread)..
I have my sabdzb running on my main server fine, I can access this via the localhost or via the ip address from the main pc and my other two htpc's. I can also access the sabnzb screen from safari on my iphone while using 3G (disconnected from my wifi).
However everytime I try to load the app via my iphone I just keep getting the following error:
"unable to connect to sabnzbd (operation could not be cmpleted (NSURLErrorDomain error"
I have tried using the standard 8080 port with and without the API key - no joy
I have tried to use port 9090 with https and the API key - no joy
I have a Linksys wireless router andhave made sure that ports 8080 have been forwarded (guessing it must be working if I can access via 3G on safari)!
I have also ensured that the Sabnzdb host is set to 0.0.0.0
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I seem so close to getting this great app working... the newzbin side of things is fine, I can add files from the iphone diretly into my queue - I just can view this via the iphone.
*** update - my apologies I now have it working, I still had the :8080 at the end of my host address (as it would be shown in the web url). I removed this and it is now working fine ***
Kind Regards
Tylor
