Cool, that works:
Code: Select all
sander@R540:~$ telnet weathergirl-ipv6.tele2.net nntp
Trying 2a00:801:103:10::35...
Connected to weathergirl-ipv6.tele2.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
201 Tele2 newsserver (weathergirl-read.tele2.net) Service Ready - [email protected] (no posting)
quit
205 Transferred 100 bytes in 0 articles, 0 groups. Disconnecting.
Connection closed by foreign host.
sander@R540:~$
EDIT: With this weathergirl-read.tele2.net, I get download speeds of about 15 Mbps, which is my linespeed. I will test on a faster connection what the max speed is.

Yeah, I've had the same problems with it. It has gone down time to time, best to use it as a backup server.

To those having problems with their 'Lifetime' free XS Usenet try signing up again, I created my first free account with them on the first of this month (October).
But since around the 10th, I have been unable to reconnect to them, errors ranging from 'time out' to 'multiple connections'.
I have since created a new free account with them and have had no problems for the last 2 days.
Remember to check your junk mail for the confirmation email, and good luck.
I shouldn't really complain seeing as it is FREE, but it does say Lifetime 1Mbit Usenet Free Usenet access, but I guess it didn't say who's Life
Another option is to use http://just4today.net/ only hassle with that is you need a new username/password daily, and may have 'no connection to your node'

Looks like a DNS/nameserver problem.
But why do you use nt6tunnel if you have Windows 7 (with built-in IPv6). See
http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?t=8830&f=1 . If you post there your IPv6 question, I can help you further.

Having the same thing here since a couple of weeks, not only with newsservers, if I do a speedtest with my ipv6 connection it is as slow. Not sure where exactly the problem is, maybe teredo providers throttling traffic now?

Problem
For anyone who has been having trouble connecting to XSnews over the past week via one of the following IPv6 addresses:
Code: Select all
2001:67c:174:101::1
2001:67c:174:101::2
2001:67c:174:101::3
2001:67c:174:101::4
2001:67c:174:101::5
These IP addresses will no longer accept incoming connections. You will see the following error in Sabnzbd:
Code: Select all
2001:67c:174:101::3:119: Failed to connect: (60, '[Errno 61] Connection refused') 10@2001:67c:174:101::3:119
Cause
Either XSnews is doing some temporary maintenance and is juggling around IP addresses, or they are simply refusing connections on these IP addresses from now on.
Solution
You can still connect to XSnews via the domain name:
reader.ipv6.xsnews.nl. This now points to the following IPv6 address: 2001:67c:174:101::1337
I hope this can help someone, because this problem had been puzzling me for the last 2 days.

Sander is right on miredo.
I've got a laptop running Debian Squeeze and as soon as I installed miredo I could instantly access IPv6 networks.
Bummer is, I've got a small box running Arch Linux and SABnzbd, I installed miredo but I still can't browse IPv6 networks.
I even edited miredo's conf file in Arch to look exactly like Debian's but it still won't work
.
Can anyone help me?
Cheers
On my Debian system:
