Don't forget about "hellavcr" the tv downloader

Despite the name (it began with hella - as many of us did) it has sabnzbd support incl latest API key support.

Works like a dream and looks mucho sexy:

http://code.google.com/p/hellavcr/

Requires:
- sabnzbd (or hellanzb)
- newzbin account
- php/webserver

Benefits over using straight up newzbin RSS files:
- it knows (from tvrage or thetvdb integration) what episodes are coming next and only looks for those (if you set it up that way)
- pretty interface with show posters and 'schedule' info / status of upcoming shows/episodes
- won't download same episode twice, not just 'same exact nzb' - better than sabnzbd+, right?

D'oh - http://forums.sabnzbd.org/index.php?topic=1462.0 - I swear I searched before I posted... odd. Still, don't see it in the official list so...

Third post in a row here.

I have rereleased the script as SABcli on

http://code.google.com/p/sabcli/

The version is currenlty at 0.5-4 and besides for "Categories" the entire API should be implemented.

Colour support is on the roadmap

My client now also has a Curses version that is as feature complete as the CLI version.

That is, everything but "Categories" should work.

http://code.google.com/p/sabcli/

Update: The curses client is no longer in Beta, and has an entirely new interface.

I think the list should include the Chrome extension SABConnect++ (it's mentioned on the sabnzbd homepage but should probably be listed here, too, for those who may have skimmed past it somehow).

I also think MyEp2NzbMatrix (MyEpisodes to NzbMatrix Synchroniser) is worth putting on this list.  It let's you use MyEpisodes (a very thorough free TV database where you simply click on a show title to add it) to auto-send new show nzbs to sab (from nzbmatrix) if you have a way of scheduling it to run (Task Scheduler would work in windows) every so often.  It also seeks out missed episodes/seasons.  It's a couple weeks old, but works as described and intended, at least for me.

These are now the two most useful "usenet" apps for me (besides sabnzbd, of course), so I think they are worth adding to this list.

This seems as good as any place to put this. Has anyone thought of a couchpotato/sickbeard app that focuses on music? Just throwing this idea out there, since I really want such an app. :D

Any recommendations for a Linux or crossplatform music downloader/manager along the lines of Sickbeard and CouchPotato?

Sick-Beard / CouchPotato are certainly the best choices ATM, for performance and usability... i just use EventGhost (you could also use a .vbs script) to launch a bat file for executing the python command to start each and set it to be hidden.  Use MediaFrontpage ( https://github.com/nick8888/mediafrontpage ) to tie it all together and have a nice website to display everything as well as link to all my services.

Can someone please add my Google Chrome extension SABdrop to the list?

SABdrop permits sending links of NZB files to a SABnzbd instance immediately. It adds a "Send to" option to the context menu of weblinks.

Additionally it scans websites for linked NZB files and - when files are found - adds a page action to the address bar of Chrome that offers transmission of those files to SABnzbd.

Thanks!
Sven

I've created a gnome-shell extension to control and monitor sabnzbd. Can this be added to the list on the first page?
