Replace File switch.

Not sure if it's already possible, but since it'ss a quick one maybe if not, it could be added to the current beta cycle.

Is there a 'switch' to allow replace of files? "Proper" releases seem to be more common this days, with release speed being a plus for most groups, mistakes are common. So I keep getting both files, with the proper having a little different filename than the original.

What I would like is a switch for SABnzbd to replace the file, if it already exists on the destination directory, instead of just renaming it slightly.

Thanks for the great work.

We're rather wary of deleting any file in a user's media collection.
How can you be sure that stuff always downloads in the right order?

If you're wary, add the otion to "special" so only advanced users can turn it on. As a finer point... you're not deleting a file, just replacing it with a fixed version. You can even make sure that the keyword "proper" is part of the NZB as a condition for allowing file replacement.

I am sure stuff always downloads in the right order, because I normally get files pushed by my Indexer 1-2 minutes after they get released. By the time the Proper comes out (even if it's 10-15 minutes later), the original file has already been downloaded and sorted. In the rare event that it hasn't (a big movie perhaps), my Indexer sees the wrong file on my queue, and deletes it before pushing the NZB of the Proper file.

So I have to resort to deleting files manually every day.

It's on the list for a release after 0.7.0
