This has been happening more and more often on some television shows. (Fringe, Revolution) I am not entirely sure why it is hanging. It doesn't even begin to download it and it never errors out so I just end up canceling it. I haven't found a solution except manually downloading a different nzb. Can somebody explain this behavior?

DMCA takedowns.

So, every single file downloads except for the "magic fixer file"? The par2 isn't a required file, why would a DMCA takedown only kill that file and none of the others. That just doesn't add up.

It could be caused by one of your servers not responding.
Do you have multiple?
What are the retry settings in Config->Switches?
BTW: if a job hangs, it can be sent to post processsing by settings its priority to Stop.

I have two servers. Supernews & Usenetserver. Retry settings are at default (3).

I tried setting it to Stop and got these results:

» Invalid par2 files, cannot verify or repair
Download Downloaded in 12 minutes 30 seconds at an average of 1.5 MB/s
6486 articles were missing
Repair [filename] Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (2435 short)

It looks like it failed because most of it was missing, but I watched it download pretty steadily, didn't seem to jump as if pieces were missing.

I am willing to cut my losses here and substitute another nzb but I am not sure if I can just drop it in since I'd like for sickbeard/couchpotato to understand what is going on.

Two tips:

You can let SABnzbd do a pre-download check. See: Config -> Switches, en then check "Check before download"
If you don't trust SABnzbd or just want to verify SABnzbd, you can also try another download program (NNTPgrab, Grabit, NZBget) with the same server settings and the same .NZB to see what happens.

Thanks, I've enabled the pre-download check. Will try another program just to see what happens.

When (most) articles are missing, progress seems to be normal, except for a low speed.
When you hover the mouse over the job in the queue, you'll see how many articles are already missing.

Yea I think you nailed it there. Articles were missing and it was going pretty slow, getting kilobytes per second instead of 10+ megabytes per second. Thanks very much for clarifying that.
