Downloads not proceeding, please help

Hey I am fairly new to San and seem to have run into a bit of a wall. When i upgraded to v0.7.8 Sab stopped working. The program isn't making any connections to my usenet server for some reason. Thus far I have tried the following:
-Resetting SAB
-Resetting the computer
-downgrading to v0.7.6 and v0.7.7
-upgrading to v0.7.9
I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing a similar problem or has come up with a solution or workaround for the problem to get SAB downloading again.

OS: Windows 7
Install-type: Windows installer
Skin (if applicable): default
Firewall Software: none
Are you using IPV6? (yes/no - most likely no)
Is the issue reproducible? (yes/no)
