Version: 0.7.3
OS: Windows Home Server 2011
Install-type: Windows Installerpackage)
Skin (if applicable): Default
Firewall Software: Windows fierwall
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes
Here are the details of the problem
when I log into it with Chrome it asks me for a the username/password about 5 times (even though I selected to save the password).
And on each refresh, every few seconds, it asks me for the password again and again...
I have tried logging in with IE which worked fine
I have tried running SAB as admin as detailed here
http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?t=9605 but this did not solve the problem
Cookies are enabled
I'm trying to access the site via
http://************.homeserver.com:8081
and
http://server:8081
Thanks for your help

You should add /sabnzbd to each URL.
So:
http://server:8081/sabnzbd

what do you mean by add it to the URL?

You should not use a URL without the /sabnzbd part.

Adding /sabnzbd to the URL is not working for me. I still get the same U/P prompts. Besides, it's such an untidy solution even if it did work. I much prefer having to type in sab.domain.com rather than sab.domain.com/sabnzbd like I used to be able to do without all the crazy U/P prompts.

I have no explanation for the repeated logins,, maybe it's the browser, plugin?
Did you disable cookies?
The /sabnzbd part is required. Without it may unintentionally work, but it's not supported.

I understand your frustration, but I cannot reproduce this behavior.
Assuming it's some bug in our skin code, it only seems to trigger under your unique Chrome configuration.
It does point to a Chrome issue, because Chrome is supposed to cache the login credentials during its session.

I have found that logging in once, then when it prompts again, press cancel. Then reload the page & login once again resolves the issue. You can then navigate around without issue.
Note I am using Google Chrome Portable from portable apps. Not sure if the other user is using the same.
I normally use FireFox, but our work proxy is a bastard & is always prompting for auth account info (for the proxy that is). Even with NTML passthough enabled, so I have to use Chrome at work.

I got the exact same problem using chrome and after reading your post i figured it out. With me it stops the popup if i use this URL "
http://n4200pro:8085", and if i go back to "
http://n4200pro:8085/sabnzbd/" it begins once more. Hope it's also the fix for you and the maker know how to fix it then.
Sorry for necroposting.

I've never had a problem with Chrome, but SABconnect++ had been giving the same problem until I read this thread. I checked and sure enough the url was http://blah.blah.com:****/sabnzbd/ When I removed the last / (i.e. http://blah.blah.com:****/sabnzbd ) everything worked properly again.
Just checked and my Chrome bookmark never had the trailing / which is maybe why it always works for me.
Thanks Shypike!

This bug still exists and your suggestion completely fixed it.
I remember having this issue before on my previous Windows installation and visiting this topic to "fix" it. On my new clean install I am getting the same issue. I checked SabNZBD++ connect and indeed there was a trailing /!
So please SabNZBD put this in the bug list. The error is reproducible.

It's more likely a bug in Chrome or SABConnect++
I wouldn't know what to change in SABnzbd.

I actually think I may have figured this out.
If you right click on the icon in the Chrome toolbar for SABconnect++ and hit options, then add the /sabnzbd to the end of the URL there; enter your username and password; problem solved (for me at least).
