Not every time, but every so often Unrar will hang (once every 10 or so downloads). If I look at the SABNZBD page, I will see something like Unpacking 18/18, and it will just hang there. Killing the process doesn't work, it won't kill. In fact, I cannot even soft reboot, as I will just be stuck on the Logging Off Windows screen. The only way out is to press the reset button which sucks because this is a PC that I mostly manage remotely. I saw another thread with a similar issue but it was on a Mac. I'm on Windows.
Some other information
- It only seems to hang when I am unraring to a network drive. I can copy files to and from this PC without issue, so there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the network.
- Machine is a Windows 7 32bit machine, running a 6 core Phenom. The machine is otherwise rock stable.
- This is a difficult issue to recreate, as it is totally random when this occurs
- When this happens, any other processing in the queue is held up, all jobs will usually finish successfully after the hard reset.
Any help is welcome. Even if it is just a way to kill the unrar process without having to hard reset the PC.

Re: UNRAR hanging on Windows machine, have to press reset on
Unfortunately we have no control over the quality of unrar.
Reports like this are very rare.
One thing you could experiment with is replacing the unrar.exe file with another version.
You can use the unrar.exe file from the WinRAR distribution.
The location within SABnzbd is this:
"c:\Program Files\SABnzbd\win\unrar\UnRAR.exe"
