0.7.11 Intermittently Quits [OS X]

weird thing, but since upgrading to 0.7.11 (previous version 0.7.10), application seems to be quitting at times for no particular reason. usually i notice it in the morning, that it has quit sometime during the night (i usually check it in the morning to see what it grabbed while i was asleep).
it's really no big deal, but it's something strange and i figured i'd report it.

I've had the same issue for a few releases without any idea whats causing it. Your're not alone!

Check OSX's "Console" app for any crash reports.
Also (but I'm not sure) it might be that OSX simply closes down apps for not being active.

I have just recently started having the same problems. Almost every day since I have installed the 0.7.11 upgrade sabnzd quits on it's own without any warnings. I looked at the console for Crash reports and found that each report is similar and looks like this:
Process: SABnzbd [289]
Path: /Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/MacOS/SABnzbd

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
I tried to use the app caffeine to keep the computer running to prevent the crash but it had no effect.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? Should I consider installing an older version?

I still have no idea about causes, but it's very likely to be system specific.
Relatively few people report it and I have had 0 success in reproducing the issue.
(Mine is still running after 5 days).
If you're willing to test older versions, go ahead.
It will certainly help zooming in on the problem.

I have had the same issues since upgrading to 0.7.11.
It has been crashing every night after I've noticed and restarted it. 8 times since the 15th of February.
The console looks very similar for each time.

Same advise as for the previous poster.
Try older versions until the problem goes away.

Good so far today with 0.7.10, I'll see if it crashes overnight.

I'm eager to get your results.
No code change between 0.7.10 and 0.7.11 can be responsible for these crashes.
Therefore the only other explanation would be recent changes in the build environment.
(I.e. what is used to convert the source code to an OSX App.)

Ran fine overnight. Downloaded a few videos just fine and is still running. If you need further details, I am happy to provide them.

At this moment, I couldn't think of details.
I will have a look at rebuilding 0.7.11 with the 0.7.10 build environment.
When I think I've found something, I'll contact you for some further testing.
Be aware that 0.7.10 contains two serious issue that were solved in 0.7.11:
- Obfuscated file name support causes regular multi-set NZBs to verify (much) slower
- Bad articles from some servers are accepted as valid data
The first one won't hurt much if you have a fast system.
The second one is limited to specific (not so popular) Usenet servers.

Alright. I'll sit on 0.7.10 until I hear otherwise. So far no major issues and it is still running (like it used to).

There may be another useful test.
Try to install the Lion build of 0.7.11 on your system.
It misses two features, but should otherwise work fine:
- Notification Center support
- Keep-awake support

Alright, I installed the Lion version. I'll let you know if it's still running tomorrow.

Seems alright today with the Lion version. Didn't quit randomly overnight and downloading worked fine.
