any plans to support the new rar 5 file decompression in future releases of sabnbzd?

Out of curiosity, I installed unrar5 on my Ubuntu and made SABnzbd use it ... without problems so far

As long as there are only beta releases of the latest unrar, we won't include it.
For your information: very few posts are actually compressed, most posts just use RAR as convenient wrapper.
Most content (like MKV) is impossible to compress any further.
