With broadband connections ever increasing it would be nice to start to use megabits to limit speed for ease.

Release 0.8.0 will allow you to set a percentage of the max bandwidth.

Wow, even better! Does it dynamically calculate the peak available bandwidth? The reason I ask is because I get traffic shaped by my ISP (Virgin Media) at prime time and my max speed varies. If it was dynamic that would be seriously slick.

You could achieve this by letting the downloads spike every hour or so to check max speed.

No.

How about an option for a speed limit on a per server basis?

The reason: I have two internet connections and I'd like to prevent my main browsing/voip connection from being saturated but I'd like to saturate the other connection.

Let's not get into creeping featurism.
The invested time versus the potential audience is not good.
