Accidentally downloaded while NAS disconnected...

Post by SteveMc »

Downloaded quite a lot overnight last night, but before bed I rebooted my NAS and didn't reconnect it to the PC (it is mapped as drive Z).

Got up this morning and SAB is reporting everything has completed fine, but I cannot find the files! I have done a search on the pc and nothing of the correct name shows up? I have looked on the root drive and in the downloads/incomplete folder but nothing.

Surely SAB would report an error if it hadn't managed to unpack (it says for example):

Stage Par2
    [PAR-INFO] Sample: => Verified in 1.2s, all files correct
    [PAR-INFO] Filename: => Verified in 120.4s, all files correct
    [DEL-INFO] Sample: => Deleted 2 file(s)
    [DEL-INFO] Filename: => Deleted 2 file(s)

Stage Unrar
    [RAR-INFO] Filename: => Unpacked 1 file(s) in 198.5s
    [DEL-INFO] Filename: => Deleted 88 file(s)

Any ideas as to whether the files actually exist somewhere? Or am I going to have to redownload them? Thanks.

Look in the log file for clues.
If the Operating system doesn't complain, SABnzbd doesn't know that anything is wrong.
However with unpacking we check if the filenames have been created by unrar/unzip.
So it's very likely that file files ended up somewhere on the local disk.
Use the Windows "search" function to look for one of the files.

Disconnect the NAS again and check where the OS redirects drive Z: to.

I'm stumped. I've checked the log, and everything seems to have gone okay - it unrars to my incomplete folder, cleans up after itself and I assume at some point has moved the files but they do not appear anywhere on the PC or NAS. I've done the Windows search and even included hidden and system files in that search and there is no sign of the files...

I can only assume it has moved them to nowhere, but I would have thought something would have appeared in the log to indicate that?

At the time of download, SABnzbd got valid locations, it even checked that files
were actually created (assuming unrar was used).
I don't know where the OS has hidden the files, but it didn't tell SABnzbd about it.
