0.7.16 Win32

I've tried to download 3 large movies in the last couple of days. Every one failed. I thought my SAB was out of date, so I updated it and tried one of the failed NZBs again. Still failed. Since I'm buying bandwidth by the GB, these failure are costing me money. Is there anything I can do, like some sort of pre-flight check, to make sure the file is complete before I start downloading it? I think I've blown 30GBs on incomplete files in the past 6 weeks or so. It's frustrating.

I use nzbgeek.info as my tracker and blocknews.net as my source.

It's caused by DMCA takedowns.

Workarounds:
- buy an unlimited newsserver account
- buy a second newsserver account
- buy services from an provider that is not touched by the US DMCA
- be quicker to download; an hour after it's posted (so before the DMCA takedown)
- (as you seem to be from the USA) vote against the DMCA

That makes sense. Which providers would you recommend?

I have the same problem with "not enough repair blocks". I've also heard that it's caused by DMCA. I was using UseNetServer.com & switched to TweakNews.eu & still have the same problem with "not enough repair blocks". So I guess using a server outside the US doesn't fix the problem. Can anyone else suggest better servers to use?

Thanx in advance for any help.

Many Usenet providers depend on US backbones: http://www.newsgroupservers.net/newsgro ... _resellers
I use tweaknews.eu too as a backup; it helps, but it's not a cure-for-all.
Some posts are just bad, it's not always a takedown.
