Multiple Failed Downloads

Post by bzowk »

Hey Guys -

I've run SABnzbd for about a year now on my system at home. 99% of it's use comes from SickBeard. About a month ago, I had to perform an OS re-install on that machine which was a massive undertaking due to what I have on it. I set SickBeard and SABnzbd back up from scratch, but used the exact same settings (from screenshots.)

Since the rebuild, I've gotten a large amount of errors when downloading. My guess is about 40%. When retrying or trying to download the same NZB again, I still get the error. I understand if this happens sometimes - but - not this often. The thing is, it's not happening on older shows, but newer ones - even ones just released.

I totally understand that this could be my indexer. The thing is, I hardly ever had a failed download prior to my rebuild which is why I'm posting. Below are a few examples of why shows are failing, my indexers, plus my system setup.

Any suggestions? I use GigaNews for my provider if that matters. If you think it is my indexer, what are a couple of the best which I may sign up for immediately? Thanks!!

Download Error Examples
The below 2 are the most frequent by far...
- Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (699 short)
- Download might fail, only 0.4% of required 100.2% available

Indexers (In Order)
1. NZB.ag Where majority of NZBs are pulled from (Pay yearly - Newznab-based)
2. Sick Beard's Index
3. oznzb (Disabled - Tried it out but was limited to only 5 searches a day so disabled for a while)
3. Womble's Index

System
- Intel i7 / 16gb RAM
- Windows 7 x64
- 20tb drive pool for Shows, media, and other things (Drive Bender using 7 seperate SATA disks) in "TV Shows" folder
- SickBeard Alpha Build 504 executables & OS running off SSD which is not in the pool
- SABnzbd 0.7.3 which also executables & OS running off SSD which is not in the pool

Thanks!

There are a lot of bad (or partially deleted) posts out there.
If you think it's SABnzbd's fault, try the same NZB with another Usenet client.

Thanks, What I did last night is swap the priority of indexers in SickBeard to make OzNBZ the top and retry a couple of the failed downloads. The two I tried failed as well. Seemingly, it's the NZBs, but I"ll try another client, too. Why would so many new NZBs for popular shows be bad?

Thanks

Thanks
DMCA takedown requests or people doing weird stuff with naming to avoid the latter requests.
Not all indexers are equally good at making sense of odd naming schemes.
