Hello - total NOOB. Needed to switch from torrents to Usenet, got a Giganews account and MIMO, and I'm a mac user. Almost every thing i search for is incomplete, downloads as EXE which I can't open, or requires a password when I try to unarchive. The content is also a lot of burned-in subtitles. I used YIFY and it was so clean and good quality all the time in the Torrent world, I had high hopes of Usenet being an even better experience but it feels like a massive step backwards.
What am I doing wrong? Can I somehow weedout the passwords, subtitles, exe files, etc... ?

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

MIMO's search functionality was pretty lacking last time I tried it. Try using SABnzbd + any of the free indexers from the wiki before giving up.
