Hi guys,

I've successfully installed sabnzbd on my QNAP TS-509 and have managed to run some NZB downloads direct from opening the files on the gui and from NEWZBIN bookmarks.
I then found the myNZB app for my iphone and have configured to my usergroup login at GIGANEWS, but I can't seem to get a connection to view my SABNZBD on the iphone.

It says 'LOADING SABnzbs data...

Unable to connect to SABnzBD.

Error retuned:
"gateway timed out (504)"

I have configured is as:

SABnzbd

Host: news-europe.giganews.com
Port: 8080
Username: *******
Password: *******

Newzbin

Username: ******
Password: *******
Hits: 15 hits

General

Timeout: 1 minute >
Show Popup Alert: ON
------------------------------------------------------

Is the 8080 Port correct ?

Any advice would be much appreciated

You're mixing up things.
What you filled in is the account info of your GigaNews account!
What the app probably needs is:
host: IP-ADDRESS-OF-YOUR-QNAP/sabnzbd
port: 8080
Username: user name if you set one
Password:  password if you set one

yea, I do.
I actually set it up with
host: IP-ADDRESS-OF-YOUR-QNAP (no subpath)
port: 8080
Username: user name if you set one
Password:  password if you set one

I've connected to my NAS when on LAN using the IP of the NAS box. Is it possible to connect externally over the web? I've tried using my dynamic IP, but no luck? any guidance much appreciated.

Yes, it's possible. Have you forwarded the port of your QNAP in your firewall and "pointed" to your internal ip (of the QNAP)? See http://portforward.com/ for more info.
