oddity with noatime

Post by gyre »

Hi folks.

I just enabled noatime on my Linux box's SSD, and noticed a strange behaviour with sabnzbd. I not sure whether this is me being fat-fingered, or whether this is a known problem with sabnzbd and the noatime attribute on a drive.

The unexpected behaviour is that when connecting to my sabnzbd web page, instead of getting a list of things that are being downloaded and a history of the downloaded things, I get a start-up wizard page. As if my sabnzbd.ini file isn't there. Which it is.

If I re-mount the drive with relatime and restore my sabnzbd directory, it works fine and I get the correct status page.

Has anybody seen this before?

Thanks!

I have no knowledge about the influence that noatime has.
However, there's only one reason that SABnzbd shows the wizard: you have no servers defined.
Or it thinks you haven't.
Maybe the CherryPy framework or the Cheetah template compiler use "atime",
but I'm not sure how this would explain that the Wizard comes up.
