Sabnzbd Quits upon Launch (OS X Yosemite 10.10)

Hi

On my macbook with Yosemite, Sabnzbd is quitting upon launch. I tried shift-click to launch the app and a standard double click.
I have tried beta and standard releases of Sabnzbd to the same result.
Is there some other way to launch sabnzbd or is there a work-around? Did not have this problem pre-Yosemite.

I have no OSX

What I do on Linux: open a terminal, find the directory with the application, and then start the application from the terminal. You can then see what is says on the command line.

I think this can be done on OSX too, but only if you know how to do the above.

I am using Mac Yosemite 10.10 with SabNzbd 0.7.19RC3

Move the .ini out of the application support > sabnzbd folder to your desktop, then start it.

Run the wizard and then manually copy back info if need be, or you can just re-enter again from scratch.

There's something not right with your DNS settings.
The quick fix is this:
Start SABnzbd once using:
/Applications/SABnzbd.app/Content/MacOS/SABnzbd --console --server 127.0.0.1:8080

It should start now.
Then close it from the web interface and start it in the normal way.

I am having this problem as well. It worked last week, but now it stopped. When I click on the application, it starts and then immediately sends the pop up message that it is shutting down. Not sure if its related but my SickBeard program stopped working as well at the same time. I was able to solve that problem by using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost and it worked. I tried the same solution with sabnzbd but the page was still unavailable. I have tried all of the solutions listed above, but none worked.

Just updated to Mac OS 10.11 Beta (El Capitan) and I am seeing a somewhat similar issue. Sabnzbd shuts down right after starting.

You probably entered the numerical IP address of your Mac
and now your router assigned it another address.
Open Applications->Utilities->Terminal and type
/Applications/SABnzbd/Content/MacOS/SABnzbd --server 127.0.0.1:8080

I should have said: the app runs on the same computer I launched from on terminal with the following command:

/Applications/SABnzbd.app/Content/MacOS/SABnzbd --console --server 100.0.1.17:8080

100.0.1.17 is the address of the local machine

It fails after you started it like that?
Are you quite sure that the address is correct?
Do you happen to have a double IP, one for a wired and one for a WiFi connection?

My proposal should always work, although it means you cannot access SABnzbd from
other computers within your local network.
If you don't need that anyway, using 127.0.0.1 is better.

I now have the same issue after upgrading to El Capitan. I tried the above in terminal and I get the returned error of file or directory not found.

I can get into Applications but then nothing after that.

Any suggestions please?
