Using VPNs

Hi all,

With discussions around changes to laws covering online privacy and ISP's in certain countries being asked to provide information on their subscribers I've started thinking about the need for a VPN service and wanted to start a discussion on this topic. I'm sure there will be sab users who have VPN's set up so I'd be interested to hear from you.

- What service do you use?
- How fast is it?
- How do you have it configured?
- Do you think it's worthwhile?
- Any suggestions as to the best way to deploy a VPN with sab?

Look forward to hearing from you all. :)

I use Hide My Ass sometimes. Works fine.

You could also just enable SSL in SAB for your Usenet Provider. That should be enough.

The most important thing you need to know about a VPN that It secures your computer's internet connection to guarantee that all of the data you're sending and receiving is encrypted and secured from prying eyes.

VPN service can be helpful, whether it's just a matter of protecting yourself when you're out and about, whether you handle sensitive data for your job and don't want to get fired, or you're just covering your own ass from the MPAA.
