    Use Test Server in Config > Servers.

    Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

Anyone know if the new beta works with unrar 5.30?

Very likely. Just try. You can replace the unrar exe files in SABnzbd program files folder.
