quick question RE: duplicate nzbs

Post by renegade »

previously (0.7.x) I would get a warning from sab when a duplicate nzb was rejected.

using 0.8.0Beta5 [d7f3a47], with Glitter, duplicates are rejected, but I no longer get any notice/warning. (I had to view log to confirm).

Sab running on El Capitan 10.11.3 (15D21).

Has this been removed, or a setting that was changed, or am I completely off base?

There's a Special to enable or disable warnings for duplicates: warn_dupl_jobs

hmmm, mine is enabled (on).

Is that something that toggling it on/off may fix?

Maybe. I'm still getting the warnings.
You do see the DUPLICATE message in the queue?

No, there is no indication anywhere that there was a duplicate (other than in logs).

In that case check the duplicate settings in Config->Switches.
There are now two checks:
One based on content alone, but not the title. This replaces the old method, based on backups.
One based on show/season/episode in the title, this is new, but depends on the History.

For those I have:

Detect Duplicate Downloads: Discard
Detect duplicate episodes in series: Off

I also tired toggling the special off/on, doesnt seem to have made any difference. Only place I see skipped duplicates is in the logs.

At least one of those two settings should be on, otherwise you'll get no duplicate detection.

Not sure I follow. There is no 'on' setting, only pause, discard, or off.

In this case, would 'discard' be on ?

Also, these are the same settings I used/had on 0.7.x, which worked fine.

For either choose "Discard" or "Pause".
0.7.x worked the same, you had to pick a setting other than "Off".

Ok, correct, I have one setting (Detect Duplicate Downloads) set to 'Discard' as I mentioned earlier.

The setting works, they are discarded/ignored, but unlike 0.7.x I do not get any indication that it happens.

The warning comes for "discard" too.
That is, when Config->Special->warn_dupl_jobs is set on.

Well, not sure what to make of it, as I get no warnings anymore at all.

The special is enabled, and other set to discard.

I don't know either.
Can you enable debug logging and show the relevant logging lines here?

Do you get any warnings at all? Maybe it's just a skin problem of not showing the warnings.
You can generate warnings by either temporary putting the wrong username/password for a Newsserver while downloading, or by opening in another browser window http://YourSabUrl:8080/tapi
If you like our support, check our special newsserver deal or donate at: https://sabnzbd.org/donate
