Sample needed for RSS setup

Post by NetworkMan55 »

Could someone please provide me with a sample as to how to configure SAB and NZBMatrix.

I'm new to the RSS thing and have no idea as to how to configure the new 0.5.0.

I am running the Linux Trunk version and update daily via SVN.

Thanks for the help

I'm not sure nzbmatrix works with SABnzbd.
They recently introduced an API to get at their data,
but only for paying customers.
Since no one of the team intends to get a paid account, it may be a problem to create support.

I'm confused!!!

This implies that you are working on support for NZBMatrix.

#167: Support "www.nzbmatrix.com" RSS feeds
#252: NzbMatrix.com support fails

Am I incorrect in this assumption?

Thanks for the help

We had some nzbmatrix support in the coming 0.5.0.
People report that it no longer works.
nzbmatrix now has  an api for paying customers.
Conclusion: nzbmatrix is no longer supported and currently we
don't have a whole lot of motivation to do something about it.

Ok first off RSS from nzbmatrix and sabnzbd work nicely together if you use the right feed.  You have to have a vip account at Nzbmatrix though (give $10 donation) To generate an RSS feed that works go here http://rss.nzbmatrix.com/ . Set the link type to: NZB Download link (VIP Account Holders Only), fill in your username and api key (found in the "Your account" link at nzbmatrix")

Secondly why do all the Devs and Admins here despise Nzbmatrix? I know that it doesn't have quite as many nzbs but why such a cold attitude towards them?  Don't get me wrong I use Newzbin myself now and love it.

Ok maybe this is all just a made up conspiracy in my head but for some reason I had this illusion that a bunch of people hated nzbmatrix.  When shypike said that "no one intends to get a paid account" for some reason I took that as no one would ever get an account at that terrible place. I guess I'm just delusional.

I see that SAB supports Newzbin but when I go there i get this:

Newzbin - Signup Limited
Please accept our apologies, but an invitation from a current member is required in order to register. If you have been sent an invitation, please use the link located in the email.

Why do you support something that everyday people can't use or get??  With NZBmatrix it costs $10.00 US for a VIP account.  I have no idea where to get or what an invitation is...            Do you go to Wal-Mart to get one??? :)

There's a topic in the "General" board where you can ask our forum members for one.
Further newzbin was quite open until they got contacted by certain lawyers.
And they have an excellent API which they even extended after we asked for it.

There is nothing wrong with nzbmatrix as such, except that they kept changing
their interface and require a payment for any usable access.
I'm sure nzbmatrix will go "underground" too, once they are contacted by certain laywers.

Newzbin support has been in SABnzbd since the beginning (when it was very open).
I'm not sure if we would have decided to add support today, given their current closed nature.
We don't really like the idea of adding more support for payed sites, where do we end?
