Major Drop in speed, but only in SAB.

I've had about 35 MB/s ever since i've installed SAB up until about 2 weeks ago or so. It has dropped to 2.5 MB/s. I don't believe it had updated in that time frame, and I sure didn't change any settings. I opened up my Alt-Binz which I used to use (using the same acct, settings, SSL etc) and still get the full speed.

I tried reinstalling, but that didn't do anything. It kept my settings, so I guess I could try a complete uninstall then reinstall, but surely it's got to be a setting or something since it's the only thing that has dropped in speed.

Help is appreciated as I enjoy using SAB over other programs.

Rick..

What does https://fast.com/ tell you as speed?

Fast.com 1.7 Mbps?
SAB 238 KB/s?
That's correct: bits versus bytes, so factor 8 or 10

Fast com shows me 490Mbps. and again SAB shows 2.5MB/s. Alt Binz is fine. I"ve since changed internet providers and have a 400Mbps connection, but SAB is still at 2.5, but my Alt Binz has gone to the new heights.

any help? I have reinstalled, but it kept my setting (logins, etc) so not sure it would have done anything, but still get the slow speed. I used the Beta version.

Usual suspects for slow downloads:

- you set up a bandwidth limit and/or bandwidth percentage
- using wifi, instead of wired
- saving to a slow disk (NAS for example)
- slow hardware (for example running SAB on a raspi or NAS)
- speed limit in your usenet plan
- bad performance by your usenet provider
- too much (or too little) connections to your usenet provider (15 is usually best)
- usenet speed throttled by your ISP
- missing articles
- slow newsserver with same or higher priority as fast newsserver
- SABnzbd over a VPN, with more than 7 connections

Try this first: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#freshstart

Then we can see what is happening with a vanilla SABnzbd that should do auto-performance. 2.5MB/s is really too slow.

Thanks I adjusted my issues on speed. Main factor was my internet provider made some adjustments.

I did end up completely ditching the settings (.ini) and reinstalling and setting back up, and seems fine. Not sure what had happened. Getting a nice 30MB/s now. Thanks for the replies.

WTH! Day two of "fixing it" It's back down to 2.5 MB/s after getting 30-50 after reinstall ???? What has changed? Am I going to have to uninstall, reinstall every time? ugh.

Reinstalling again didn't do anything this time. I don't understand. Could something be blocking or limiting the web address since it uses that instead of and actual program?

This is really strange. Did you change any settings?

What happens when you download a real linux-ISO? Could be some takedown problem.
And with just 1 server?
