Has anyone made a script to update folder dates under the end folder?

My media center in Windows 7 is not accurately listing by date because once a folder is created, it's date is not updated if there are changes in a folder in THAT folder.
For instance, d:\newest\TV Shows\SomeShow\Season 1\Episode.mkv
If I am looking at "TV Shows" and organizing by date, I can't see any updates unless I actually go inside the "SomeShow" folder. It would be nice if I could order by date and see which "SomeShow"s have new content downloaded from within the "TV Shows" folder.
Has anyone made a post processing script that will make and delete a simple text file or even just modify the last modified inside the folder under the "Season X" folder?
I am working on one now using autohotkey but im having trouble getting my script to run right.
