Hi. I'm having an issue with 3.7.1, continually getting '[WinError 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host' warnings, though the download will complete. Reverted to 3.6.1 and the warnings went away.
Windows 11 Pro 22H2 22621.1105
Firefox 108.0.2 (same warnings with Edge)
Is this a known issue? If you can suggest a fix or need more info let me know.
Thanks

Re: [WinError 10054]
I'm not completely sure, but based on some searching it could be that your timeout settings don't match the timeout from the server side. We fixed that in 3.7 that it actually works correctly.
Could you try 3.7.2 just to be sure?

Re: [WinError 10054]
Ok thanks, I installed 3.7.2Beta1 but the problem is worse if anything:
Failed to connect: [WinError 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
Failed to connect: [WinError 10060] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
Reverted again to 3.6.1 and everything is OK so I'll stick with that for now.

What virusscanner do you use?

Windows Defender aka Windows Security
I tried:
Real-time protection off
Reputation-based protection off
process exlusion for SABnzbd.exe
Same warnings. Back to 3.6.1, it just purrs along, no problems.
Something else I should try?

Re: [WinError 10054] [RESOLVED]
I found the culprit, Cloudflare Warp! I turned it off and downloads are much faster and no warnings. Now 3.7.1 just purrs along, no problems. Consider the issue resolved.

Re: [WinError 10054]
Cloudflare Warp: "In September 2019, Cloudflare released a VPN service called WARP which is built into the 1.1.1.1 mobile app.[30][31][14] WARP is built around the WireGuard protocol. It replaces the connection between your device and the internet, however, WARP is not a traditional VPN and will not allow you to access geo-restricted content."
So a VPN service.
What caused the WinError 10054?
* too much connections within the VPN?
* (resource) problems on the side of Cloudflare?
* ...
Anyway: now we know a VPN can cause such problems. Good to know.

Re: [WinError 10054]
It's most likely your virusscanner that is trying to inject itself into the connection. Or some other scanner / network software I suspect.

Re: [WinError 10054]
Thanks for quick response. running two diff laptops, Macbook and Dell, diff antivirus for each, same error. only constant is the network.
Re: [WinError 10054]
a Macbook, with MacOS (right?) gives a WinError 10054?!
Re: [WinError 10054]
That is indeed, impossible
