Permission errors with older nzb backups post move to docker

I changed my Sabnzbd set up in Synology to a docker container some time ago and since then the duplicate checking has been a problem with older titles that already exist in my nzbbkp folder.
Recent duplicates are detected however anything that seems to have existed before I moved the backup folder to Docker seem to have the permission error. I can recreate the issue by copying recent or old nzb backups to the nzb folder for download. For an older nzb I get the following.... e.g.
PermissionError: [Errno 1] Operation not permitted: "filename"
Sorry, I am not overly familiar with permissions so knowledge is limited,
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to correct the permissons? I have already tried setting folder permissions to 777 in config and checked that the Docker "automation" user has read write access. Problem persists.
Thanks
