This is the third time it's happened in the last week. I will leave sabnzbd on over night or when I leave for the day, and I've came back to find that it hasn't finished downloading at all. When you load the webui, it says it's downloading but the speed indicator indicator never changes, and if you look at any bandwidth monitoring tools they show it's using no bandwidth at all and the webui will not update speed info on reload. Also, the SABnzbd.exe process begins using 25% of my CPU the whole time (which is one core, I'm using a quad core Q6600) whereas under normal circumstances it doesn't use more the 2% of the core.

My specs are:

named Apathic on IRC.
Version: SABnzbd+ 0.4.12
Newsprovider: Astraweb
Not using ipv6, residential connection that tops out around 300Kilobytes a second, supposedly 3Mbps.

os: Microsoft Windows XP Professional - Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
cpu: Intel Quad Core Q6600
gfx: ATI Radeon 4890 1GB
res: 1920x1080 32bit 60Hz
ram: 3326.4MB

You could sign up as a Release Tester for the pending 0.5.0 release.
Lots of effort has been put into self-healing features.

It's still doing it even after updating to SABnzbd-0.5.0Beta1-win32-bin 

Are you using the TV/Movie Sort functions?
We have discovered an infinite loop in it, that may explain your problem.

No, no sorting is enabled, and it'll freeze before the download is even finished.

Have you defined more than one newsserver? Or maybe a lot of connections?

I have 4 servers enabled with 5 connections each, each one connecting using a different port, although it's the same news provider. I thought my ISP was originally throttling ports so I spread them out. Guess I'll just try the 2 SSL servers and limit them to ~4 connections each.

I am having the exact same issue on Fedora with  0.4.12.  When I go to the Queue, it shows that it's downloading at a certain speed, but the remain/total never changes and downloads don't complete.  I have to restart the program to get the downloads moving again.  I have 1 SSL server set up with a max of 20 connections, and a backup with 4.  It doesn't seem to correlate with when another download finishes. 

Also, I've noticed that I lose my connections during this period.  When I click on the "connections" tab it will show my 2 servers, but there will be no threads under them.

Aha! When my SAB stops downloading, I always limit the number of servers to 1. After that, the download continues.

I had this happen now with 5 of my latest 15 downloads. The download will freeze when there is very little left and I had to set connection to 1 as suggested, but also had to restart like 3 times to get the two in queue to finish. This is the most annoying problem I have atm with SABnzbd, others would be random rss shows not downloading and the preview setting * (not download) for releases that match. Last would be the rss filter order beeing messed up everytime I restart sabnzbd, reject beeing put lower down then accept so it downloads stuff I dont want .

All the problems you listed are solved for Beta2.
The "hanging" downloads are still under investigation.

I have been having the same problem for a while, both on Windows Vista and 7. Has there been any update/fix yet regarding this problem?

I did notice the problem doesn't seem to occur with me, when I have only one server configured and all the others removed.

We are working on a solution to include in 0.5.0Final.

Running SABnzbd Version 0.5.0 on Win XP SP3 w/1.5GB RAM, 20Mbs Charter Communications broadband, Gigabit LAN, newshosting.com with 60 connections. Not only am I experiencing the freezing previously reported, but once it freezes, I lose my entire network connection on this computer. If I shutdown sabnzbd from the browser, or simply kill the sabnzbd.exe process, networking resumes. Of course, the download also resumes at this point. This has happened numerous times (at least once per day) during the last week. Hopefully there's a solution to this.
