Downloads go to Idle when close to completion

Hello I am running SaBNZBD ver 4 on a Win XP Pro machine.  I am NATed behind a router but all seems to be working fine.

The issue I'm having is that when most downloads get close to reaching completion they go to an idle status.

I'm talking like less than a meg in most cases.

If I changed to a new download, my speed picks right up again, and it will run through with no problem until it reaches less than a meg again, and will sit at an idle status.

If I switch 1 and 0 quickly enough, it will complete the download, but in most cases it just slows back down to 0 and sits at idle, until I switch up the priority list with another item that hasn't been started yet.

Not sure why it is happening, just wonder if anyone else has encountered this same issue or can atleast tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks
Brooke

I've had this problem too every since I upgraded to .5.0 beta. I downgraded back to 4.11 and I'm still having the same problem. Sab just spits out a huge long list of connection  At least now if I can reboot sabnzbd things go back to normal.

Running Windows XP SP3 with windows firewall. On Astraweb at the moment.

Edit: with some fiddling around, I seem to have temporarily fixed the problem by removing all my back up servers from the list and only leaving one server there. Tested on the .5 and the .4.11

We have seen some reports on this,
but so far we have not been able to reproduce this problem
as a general case.

So far the only problem we have found, is this:
When a job contains one or more missing articles and
one of the backup servers is not responding anymore, there's a deadlock.
The reason is that SABnzbd keeps trying the backup server,
but never gets the response that the article is indeed missing.
It's a very fundamental problem in the design, that's not easy to fix.
The changes in 0.5.0 were meant to solve this problem by
locking out so-called "optional" servers if they are not responsive.
When locked out, the server is assumed not to exist for 10 minutes.

The idea is that any server which is not very reliable is flagged as "optional".
So that would include any dodgy free IPv6 server.
You would have a number of free primary, unreliable optional servers and use
your expensive reliable pay-per-GB astraweb server as backup server (but not optional).

This is all assuming that you are actually hit by this particular problem.

I'm using a unlimited astraweb account as my primary and had the eu astraweb set as my back up server when the issue was occurring. Not sure how much that piece of information will help you. But I figure I add that.

Hey Everyone thank you for your input.  :D  I did remove the other servers and managed to get my unfinished downloads completed.

Now the problem I have is that the connection speed is sitting at 32 K and will not go any higher.  I've have upgraded my DSL to 8 Meg recently, so I know there is plenty of room, but won't seem to jump back up.

I added the servers I had in before but still will not come back.

Any idea's of what I've done or what I need to do?

Thanks
Brooke
