Are you using IPV6? Not sure, probably not
Is the issue reproducible? (yes/no) ? Again not sure, how do I do it?
Sorry, this there probably a very straightforward solution to my query, but I can't seem to find out what. Also, am very new to Usenet, NZBs and SABnzbd, so am trying to find my feet!!
Basically I've got SABnzbd+ to work fine from my HTPC attached to my TV and is downloading away quite nicely. I can also control the webui from another computer on the same network.
Now, is it possible to control the webui from another computer that is NOT on the network?
I've tried doing this by typing the IP of my HTPC from a computer NOT on the same network, but it fails.
Like I said there is probably a simple noob answer for this, but I can't seem to work it out!!

Re: Sab nzb remote access
I assume you mean another computer on internet.
You probably have a router between your own PC(s) and internet.
You need to tell the router to do port-forwarding.
This means that if any incoming calls come for port 80 (standard http port)
the router must send this traffic to a specific computer in your house
to a port of your choice (e.g. 8080).
Also you need to know the IP address or DNS name of your router as
seen from the internet.
I strongly advise you to use a username and (strong) password
for the SABnzbd UI.
All in all this is a hairy subject if you're not familiar with the
way routers and web servers work. Not to forget potential security issues.
I suggest you read up on this subject first.

Re: Sab nzb remote access
Hi
Thanks for your help.
Aware of routers and port forwarding, etc, so that is fine!
So, I presume when I'm on a computer on the internet, which isn't on the same network as my HTPC I need to tap in the ip of my router (as seen from the internet).
At present I'm using Logmein to access my HTPC from the other computer, but this can be a bit slow. Thanks for the info though.
