Periodic Browser Launches (not on restart)
Posted: February 11th, 2010, 10:59 am
Version: 0.5.0RC6
OS: Vista Home Premium
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin: Plush
Firewall Software: None (router firewall has NAT, SAB running on port 8090)
Are you using IPV6? (vista; could be either, not fiddled with this at all, so presumably NO?)
Is the issue reproducible? in as much as it happens every day, I can't say what causes it though
So; said computer runs 24/7, and has a scheduled reboot at 17:05 GMT daily (except Sat + Sun). SAB runs a login, but pauses on the scheduler at 17:00 daily, resumes at 23:00 daily.
Launch Browser on Startup is OFF, though I have switched it ON, restarted, switched it back OFF, restarted and the issue persists.
Issue is: periodically (this is over a period of hours) the browser is launched in response to a request for the SAB page on that PC.
This DOES NOT happen when SAB restarts. But it does happen after a period without a restart or reboot.
Ex; its 15:44 GMT now, and the PC was in use yesterday at ~19:00 - its had no reboot or restart in between, but remote desktop-connecting to it now, the browser has been launched, to show the SAB page.
When I return home at ~18:00, the PCV will have rebooted and the browser will have been triggered again.
However; I just stopped and started SAB over Remote Desktop, and the browser did not fire up.
So it appears something is causing SAB to launch the browser periodically.
This did not happen with 0.4.12.
(I am also having issues with RSS feeds, which in the assumption is a speerate issue, not necessarily SAB at fault, I have begun a seperate thread for - noted here just in case!)
