Not encryping password

Post by Fatila »

0.5.0 Server 2008 R2 x64

It kept on popping open wizard so I manually entered server details, and it seems the issue is that sabnzbd can write to the config file fine, but it can't seem to hash the password? Very strange issue, I have installed on Server 2008 (albeit 32bit, but run sab on non server 64bit systems). I also had a look in console while trying to save, it delays for a while before saying it is saved but nothing appears in console, and indeed it has not been saved ???

It doesn't hash the password in sabnzbd.ini. Any kind of encryption in sabnzbd.ini would be pointless because it would have to use an algorithm SABnzbd could decrypt when it sends it to the server. If SABnzbd could decrypt it automatically, so could an attacker, so there's no point.

Ok, well I was just guessing how sab behaved. This problem is preventing it from working however, it will not save the password of any usenet server I enter. If I can enter it manually please instruct on how to do so.

EDIT: Nevermind, just installed some updates and now it works... bah!
