Pausing & resuming

Post by Vertigo1 »

Hi, got a question & a feature request.

Firstly, what exactly is the difference between Pause & Pause All in the scheduling?

Secondly, can we possibly have a "Resume All" schedule event which will resume all queued items, even if some have been paused?  During peak times I sometimes pause all but a few individual items in the queue so as not to go over my limits but then, when the schedule resumes after peak hours for overnight downloading, the individual items I paused remain "stuck".

Pause is just stop downloading.
"Pause all" will stop all activity: RSS scans, reading watched folder etc.
This is primarily used by people who want their server to go into standby
or at least prevent disk drives from waking up.
"Resume" is the end of both types of pause.

There will be no overall resume of individually paused items,
because the situation is already complicated enough.
Currently, being oversized can be a reason to pause a job and future releases
will have more reasons for automatic individual pauses.
The idea is that manual review is needed.
Because of that, overall resuming is not a good idea.
