There isn't something like this on this board as far as I can tell, so I'll start one, hopefully to inspire those that make this program great, even better!
I'll first say I'm a loooong time Grabit user, and just migrated due to Grabit being, well shit. I've put up with its buggy behaviors too long and am glad SABnzbd come out and be amazing. And it is, but it can be a bit better.
I'll start with my gripe, not necessarily against SAB, but more against the nzb sites out there. There's this thing about groups like a.b.teevee and a.b.multimedia; every nzb site seems to think they are interchangeable. They mix and match their files when you request an nzb, which all wonderful until your server doesn't support one or the other. Mine doesn't have a.b.teevee in its directory, but it does have a.b.multimedia, so when I get my nzb and its got a mix of both I have to know and be able to to find the files that my server cant dl, and find them somewhere else. Which is where SABnzbd comes in, because in my dl queue, I have NO idea where my files are coming from. There's nothing noting this, as far as i can tell. The room is there to label what server, what newsgroup, so I would really like to see whats going on. This is a big issue with me because it suck to start a dl, go and pick a pizza for some good tv watching, and the files are only half there!
EDIT: I posted this before I was done!
I also would like to see the ability to group files of the same type AND name. If I download a the season of Family Guy as one nzb, but they're all separate when i choose them form an nzb site, when they go to the dl queue the files wont be in the correct naming order, file 1 will be at the bottom, or I'll download files 13 from episode 1, then file 5 from episode 5, which is a bitch when its time to unrar.
And speaking of unrar (and moving files to their completion directory) that should happen on a file by file basis or every 3 files or so, not the completion of the WHOLE queue, as it seems to be. That way we can get started on some files while waiting for the others.

Re: Improvements
The coming release 0.6.0 allows you to select the group (by setting a user script).
That should solve your group issue.
Splitting of NZBs into sub jobs is somewhere along the future roadmap.
It's not exactly a trivial exercise, at least not to get it right in all the fringe cases.

Re: Improvements
Issue already solved! I'm impressed with this program! My issue was: having files of one nzb split between two different newsgroups. I'm from a Grabit background, so let that be my lesson, because SABnzbd allows you to group by file types i.e. movies, tv, music et c., no so much different newsgroups, a la Grabit!!! Yeah!!!! So I don't have to worry about that! HUGE for me!! Awesome software indeed!shypike wrote: The coming release 0.6.0 allows you to select the group (by setting a user script).

so now my dl partition goes from having a shitload of newsgroups named folders (a.b.multimedia, a.b.movies.divx, and so on...) to just a few specific folders (movies, music, magazines...)!! That's really good. I didn't realize how much i needed this, though I still would like better sub labeling (music/hip hop, or movies/scifi..)
Oh and sorry about posting in wrong section! Wont happen again!

Re: Improvements
You don't really need sublabeling, I guess
If you tell SABnzbd to store "hiphop" in (say) d:\download\music\hiphop"
and "classical" in d:\download\music\classical", isn't that enough.
BTW: the script will require some programming work from your side, which might be an issue.
I'll think about some solution where you simply tell which groups your provider carries.
It won't be a fancy UI, but a simple text file.
Or just a sample script.
Another question: don't you have a commercial Usenet provider?
Because I'm surprised that it doesn't carry the groups you require.

Re: Improvements
So basically, I could make detailed destinations instead of just having 'Music' I could have 'Music/classical', 'Music/techno', or 'Movies/scifi'? Got it, a bit tedious, but worth it in the outcome for cleaner folders.shypike wrote: You don't really need sublabeling, I guess

My ISP (RoadRunner) used to have their own Newsgroup server, but now they outsource it to Newshosting. It's still part of my 'Net package, but it's severely crippled (max speed 500KB/s, only 3 threads, 30 day retention). I used to use Newshosting as my main NG provider and RR as backup when they had their own server, and it was only $20/month for NewsHosting, they're cheaper now, I might just go back. But truth told I really don't need the speed, nor the retention, NZB sites take care of most of my retention needs, and I rarely have a single file that over 1 gig, so speed isn't all needed much. Anyways, Newshosting doesn't carry a.b.teevee, nor a.b.inner-sanctum, and those groups are getting mixed in with a.b.multimedia and a.b.mp3.complete-cd nzbs, and it sucks!
And while typing this I realized I still have my files from other groups issue, I should have wrote my above "hurrah!" posting as a "I didn't know this feature existed and thanks for it!". Its a partial solution, if the files are mixed from groups my provider supports, but if it doesnt, well that sucks. SO I guess I still need to see, if i get an .nzb with files from different groups, in the interface while dl'ing what files are coming from where so I can delete the ones I know wont come through and try to make up an nzb with the missing files from another nzb site! Once again, its not you guys fault, I blame Newzleech and NZBClub fro this, they do it all the time. Binsearch doesn't do it, nor NZBMatrix, as far as I can tell. I've wrote them to see why, but they haven't wrote me back, so it remains this bothersome issue.
