Sabnzbd 0.5.6. not saving the path to my network harddrive, help!

Post by slamdrunk »

Hi, having a little trouble with SABnzbd 0.5.6 on Mac , 10.6.5 .

I in SABnzbd's folder menu I am setting it to put the " completed, incolmplete,que" folders on my popcorn hour harddrive, which is on my local network.

everything goes well, and sabnzbd will download to these folders on the popcorn hours internal harddisk via the network. something like : /volumes/c200/NZB/complete ( incomplete, que) all is great and working.. then for no reason that i can see, maybe after 1 month or 1 week.. it will show a warnings  in the sabnzbd ( warning tab) saying that it can not create incomplete or complete folders. I have checked the disk permissions on the popcorn hours c200, they are allowing everything.. as in 777 file permissions.. so they are writable by anyone..  so them i put the correct path in again ( remember this was working before)  and then it will just not take it.. as in i will get that error that it can not create these incomplete or complete folder. .. very strange..

so then I just make a new folder on the popcorn hour harddrive .. with a different root name for sabnzbd.. the original one was like. NZB./complete/incomplete/que.

meaning that all three of these folders reside in the NZB folder. so to fix this. i will make a folder called.. NZM and put the 3 folders.. inside this one instead. then change the path in sabnzbd and save and all is well everything is downloading to my popcorn hour. then again . the same problem will happen and sabnzbd will not write to it or can not create it.. and then again i have to make another folder. to out the complete and incomplete and que folder in. then it will work again .

can anyone help me and tell me why this is happening. it works when it is a new folder and then after a while that folder will not work anymore and i have to create a new one on the popcorn hour..

this works even if i restart the popcorn hour or the computer.. it just seem to happen then it wants to happen and i do not know why . any ideas .. any help please:) thanks.

I've recently set a similar thing up and had a similar problem. I discovered that the external drive needs to be mounted for the set up to work correctly or SAB will create it's own folder and when you remount your drive it will have a different absolute path name.

In my case it had a path of;

/Volumes/movies/incomplete

and the external drive would become;

/Volumes/movies-1/incomplete

Is it possible that this problem is occurring when the drive isn't mounted?

Yes, the mounted drives must be present before SABnzbd starts.
The next release will drop this requirement for the final folder,
but not for the temporary folders.
