Are only certain categories of Newzbin bookmarks imported? I set a bookmark to a post in the Apps category and it doesn't seem to be grabbing it.

EDIT: It appears that it did in fact grab the bookmark, but for some reason didn't un-bookmark it after it was done. And it seems it wouldn't remove any of the bookmarks after downloading as I can see that it spent all day downloading and re-downloading the bookmarks until my drive was completely full. That's much worse.

You have to click the box - unmark after finishing downloading. That should do that trick

There's a problem in the current bookmark code that may occasionally result in a  failed un-bookmark action.
The same problem may also result in multiple downloads.

This will be repaired in the next Beta.
