file is downloaded as:

The.Mentalist.S03E18.HDTV.XviD-Group.avi

can i use a script to insert the episode name as below:

The.Mentalist.S03E18.The.Red.Mile.HDTV.XviD-Group.avi

using tv sorting this gets stripped out "HDTV.XviD-Group"

I'm also struggling for this some time now

Use Sickbeard to download your episodes and it will do what you want (and more)

i use episode butler because it much easier and doesn't require a standard download folder of the serie

sickbeard will strip ".HDTV.XviD-Group." from the filename.
